Hong Kong: Blue-dyed water fired at protesters defying ban



Hong Kong police used water cannon to fireplace blue-coloured water at protesters who defied a police ban and marched by the town.

The colored liquid is historically used to make it simpler for police to determine protesters.

Demonstrators lit fires, threw petrol bombs at riot police and attacked the parliament constructing.

The protest motion grew out of rallies in opposition to a controversial extradition invoice – now suspended – which might have allowed prison suspects to be despatched to mainland China for trial.
